About Leola's

Our Story

Eric started cooking and selling food on a table under a tent with a few pots and fry daddies in a parking lot of a gas station on the south side of town. Business took off - now it's time to find a location and a name! The name was easy and so was the location. His mom, Mrs.Leola was his biggest inspiration! He knew that was it! Eric grew up on the south side of town, the first location was just minutes away from his home. It was (and still is) important for Eric to show great things happen on his side of town.

After years of working in food service, managing several restaurants, living through everything life gave hime - it was time, the vision was clear. So, in 2007, Leola's CrabShack LLC was official and began not only as a great seafood spot, but as a community advocate. Leola's is a staple in the Tallahassee Community! If you're looking for some of the best tasty seafood seasoned with Leola's blended garlic butter or Leola's special seasonings - then stop by! You won't be disappointed!!!


Meet The Owner

Eric Mckinnon

Eric Mckinnon, owner of Leola's CrabShack, grew up helping his mom cook and loved it! He loved it so much that his very first job was at a local restaurant. He was so short, he had to stand on a crate. That is where it all began! From there Eric went to work in food service from Po Folks to Piccadilly's and so on. Eric's path took a winding road that always lead him back to his love of cooking and food! He had no idea - that road he was headed down was leading him to the birth of Leola's Crab Shack.
